Mini Me release v0.3.0
What is new in Mini Me v0.3.0, the Devoxx Belgium release: approval mode, agents calling agents, request traces, JSON answers, AGENTS.md and an sbx kit.

As I explained in the previous post, Mini Me is a coding agent born while preparing a tools in action session for the 2026 edition of Devoxx Belgium.

Very quick reminder: what is Mini Me
Mini Me is an agent (for code, but not only), optimized to run with local models. For example, even if Claude Code can run with local models, that agent wasn't designed with the constraints of local models in mind (memory, compute power, context window, hallucinations, ...).
Mini Me is written in Go, with Google's Genkit GO framework.
v0.3.0 the Devoxx Belgium release
Devoxx Belgium is a reservoir of ideas that reboosts your brain. So it was only natural that my baby Mini Me would gain a few features during these 5 days of excitement. It was the opportunity to prepare the v0.3.0 release, with the following content:
- yolo mode: approve tool calls or not (yolo was initially the default, and only, way Mini Me worked)
yolo: true(the default) lets tools run without asking. Withyolo: false, every action that changes something asks first:bash, writing or editing a file,fetch_contentwith save, LSP renaming, plans, and every MCP tool.- Four possible answers: allow once, allow for the session, reject this time, never.
- Agents that call other agents (
ask_agent)
- When
mmConfigsis filled in, your agent gets anask_agenttool and decides on its own when to hand work to another agent. - Each entry in
mmConfigscan have a description (when to call that agent) and its own yolo.
- Request trace
trace.enabled, or theAGENT_TRACE=truevariable, writes every request sent to the model and every response to.mm/traces/.- In an editor session (ACP), the files go into that session's folder.
- JSON answers (
structuredOutput)
- You declare the shape of the answer as Go types in the YAML file.
- The server is constrained to that shape and the answer is checked.
- Project instructions (
AGENTS.md)
- The
AGENTS.mdin the working folder is added to the system prompt at the start of each conversation. - It's configured with the
agentsMdblock.
- Genkit Go update from
1.10to1.13.1
- Sampling keys that the OpenAI API doesn't know about now reach the server. For example,
chat_template_kwargs: {enable_thinking: false}turns off a model's reasoning on llama.cpp and llmman.
- Sbx kit for Mini Me: https://rickub.com/bots-garden/mini-me-kit
- Or how to use your Mini Me agent safely with Docker
sbx.

In the coming hours and days, I'm planning a few blog posts to explain these features.

Hello Mini Me: an agent born while preparing a talk for Devoxx
Meet Mini Me, a coding agent born from a Devoxx talk on the agent loop, built for small local models with guardrails against loops and hallucinations.

Don't let your agents roam free in the wild: Mini Me gets its `sbx` kit
Build a Docker sbx kit for Mini Me to run the agent in an isolated sandbox, locally or from a remote repository, and extend it with additional kits.
